Our Reports are based on Franchise Disclosure Documents filed with state regulators. These documents are prepared by franchisors, not by FranScout. We do not independently verify the accuracy of the information contained in FDDs. FDD data may be outdated if a more recent disclosure document has been filed.
FranScout uses artificial intelligence to extract data from FDDs and generate narrative analysis. While we employ multiple quality-control measures, AI-generated content may contain errors, misinterpretations, or omissions. We recommend verifying any specific claims against the source FDD before relying on them.
The FranScout Score is a proprietary metric calculated using our own methodology. It is not an industry standard, government rating, or certified evaluation. A high score does not mean a franchise is a good investment for you. A low score does not mean a franchise will fail. The Score is an analytical tool, not a prediction or recommendation.
Some FranScout Reports include a “Market Context” section that incorporates publicly reported information from vetted third-party sources, including news publications, industry databases, and publicly available financial filings. This content is independent of the FDD-grounded FranScout Score and is clearly labeled within the Report.
All claims in the Market Context section are sourced and cited. This information is provided to give prospective franchisees additional context beyond what is disclosed in the FDD. It is not derived from the franchisor’s own disclosures and should be independently verified before being relied upon.
The Market Context section does not affect the FranScout Score. The Score is calculated solely from data contained in the Franchise Disclosure Document.
